MGTO once again brings Light up Macao, transforming the city into a spectacular landscape of light for residents and visitors to explore. The 28 installations are created by artists from Macao, Mainland China, Portugal, Korea, Australia and the United States, with the aim of beautifying the urban space and strengthening the cohesion of local communities. Entry is free, with installations open daily from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Explore Light up Macao 2025 Discover the locations of all light installations, the schedules and venues of outreach activities, and other useful information.
Across the three districts, a series of outreach activities will also be organised, including coffee-ground upcycling workshops, coffee tasting, robot interactions, a luminescent pickleball game and Portuguese tile workshops, alongside various flash-mob moments and live performances. As always, visitors can collect souvenirs and take part in interactive games with prizes.
Nam Van

“Ark of Light”, by Portuguese artist Emanuel Barbosa, “carries the spirit of diverse cultures”, featuring four sails which “unfold like scrolls across space and time, projecting words” in multiple languages, as described by MGTO.
The Nam Van area features some of the most iconic installations of Light up Macao 2025, using the lakeside setting to create an immersive and highly photogenic environment. The artworks explore colour, movement and interactivity, turning the waterfront promenade into a continuous sensory experience.
ZAPE

The façade of the Macao Grand Prix Museum becomes the stage for Macao Odyssey: The Story unfolds, an original video-mapping show presented every 15 minutes.
The ZAPE District offers several surprises. On the façade of the Macao Grand Prix Museum, visitors can watch “Macao Odyssey: The Story Unfolds”, an original production that transforms the building into a “time stage” where the city’s history and identity come alive. The show takes the audience from the awakening of Macau’s historical memory to the vibrant rhythm of everyday life, highlighting the harmony between Eastern and Western cultures and the festive traditions that shape the community. The mascot “Mak Mak” guides this journey, symbolising both local roots and a spirit of exploration toward the future. The projection runs daily from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., every 15 minutes, and lasts approximately six minutes.

Lights, colour and community spirit fill the Carnival in ZAPE, where families and visitors explore festive installations and enjoy Macau’s night-time vibrancy.
ZAPE also hosts a variety of activities centred on coffee and Macanese gastronomy, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, around Rua de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, Rua de Xiamen and Rua de Nagasaki.
At the same time, the festive spirit comes alive between Rua de Cantão and Rua de Pequim, where ZAPE Christmas Wonderland features themed installations, decorative lighting and interactive experiences such as Christmas trees and snow-themed settings.
