The Macao Grand Prix Museum will offer free admission to the public on 18 May and 1 June in celebration of International Museum Day and the museum’s 5th inauguration anniversary, respectively.
Operated by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the museum will also organize a series of free educational and interactive activities for residents and visitors.
Celebrated annually on 18 May, International Museum Day carries the 2026 theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World”.
To mark the occasion, the museum will host a reading session featuring the children’s book “Mak Mak’s Journey in Macao – Macau Grand Prix” on 17 May, followed by the “Let’s Glow! Racing Neon Sign Workshop” on 23 May.

The reading session will run from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and include storytelling, crafts, games, and a photo session with Mak Mak. Children aged five or above may participate alongside their parents.
Meanwhile, the neon sign workshop will feature three sessions using electroluminescent cold light technology to create Macau Grand Prix-themed neon signs.
Registration for both activities is available through “Macao One Account”, with participants selected through a draw.
Although the activities are free, participants are required to purchase museum admission tickets on the day. Registration details are available through the MGTO e-service platform.
The museum will also participate in the Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2026 on 17 May at Praça dos Lótus, Bairro da Ilha Verde.
Visitors can take part in the “Fingertip Track: Little Racers’ Battle” game booth, where winners will receive souvenirs while supplies last.
On 1 June, the museum will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its expansion project with additional activities and free admission.
Ahead of the anniversary, the “Legendary Senna – F3 Racing Woodcraft Wooden Model Workshop” will be held on 31 May.
Participants will assemble a wooden model inspired by legendary driver Ayrton Senna’s Formula 3 racing car using traditional mortise and tenon craftsmanship.
On the anniversary day itself, visitors will be invited to complete an interactive Bingo-style game titled “Lens Hunter: Code Breaker Adventure”.
Participants who complete the mission and share photos from the museum on social media can enter an electronic lucky draw for a chance to win limited-edition souvenirs, including an MOC wooden miniature model of the Triumph TR2 championship car.
MGTO stated that it remains committed to strengthening the integration of “tourism + sports” and enhancing Macao’s appeal as a world centre of tourism and leisure through the promotion of the Macau Grand Prix’s heritage and cultural significance.
