Marc Cucurella had promised to get a tattoo of national team coach Luis de la Fuente’s face if Spain won the 2026 World Cup, and after the team’s extra-time victory over Argentina in the final, that promise has now become permanent.
On Tuesday, the now-Real Madrid defender took to Instagram to document the process, appearing alongside a tattoo artist and two teammates as he followed through on his word. “Promises get kept,” the Spanish full-back wrote in the caption.

Cucurella wasn’t the only player to make an unusual pledge tied to Spain’s tournament run, with others committing to things like dyeing or shaving their hair had the team lifted the trophy.
