The results, announced on Friday (the 8th) by CEO Paulo Macedo during a press conference in Lisbon, highlight a growing contribution from the bank’s international operations, which now account for 12% of the group’s total earnings.
The bank’s international activity contributed €49 million to the net result, up from €34 million in the first three months of 2025. Among the overseas contributors, BCI in Mozambique led with €24 million, followed by BNU in Macau with €13 million and BCG Angola with €5 million. The quarter’s figures were also bolstered by the sale of the Cape Verdean unit BCA, which generated a capital gain of €19 million.
