Organized by GEG through the “GEG SME Series”, the “Galaxy Macau Chill Coffee” Macau Coffee Cultural Festival was officially opened at the Galaxy International Convention Center.

Organised by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) under the “GEG SME Series”, the “Galaxy Macau Chill Coffee” Macau Coffee Cultural Festival opened on 16th January at Hall ABC of the Galaxy International Convention Center and ran for three days until the 18th.

The event was supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (“MGTO”), the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (“DSEDT”), the Institute for the Promotion of Trade and Investment (“IPIM”) and the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (“MYEIC”).

Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, distinguished guests included representatives from MGTO, DSEDT, IPIM and MYEIC, alongside GEG executives. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, said: “As the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise to promote the ‘Large Businesses Leading Small Businesses’ model, GEG has remained steadfast in its commitment over the years, continuously building diversified platforms to support the growth of local SMEs and young entrepreneurial enterprises. The ‘Galaxy Macau Chill Coffee’ is a vivid example of GEG’s efforts to support SMEs in upgrading their businesses across different dimensions. We sincerely thank all supporting and related organizations for participating and making this event a success. By working together, we are creating more business opportunities for local enterprises, fostering the integrated development of tourism and gastronomy, and highlighting Macau’s positioning as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’.”

It was the first large-scale coffee cultural festival in Macau hosted by an integrated tourism and leisure enterprise.

The festival brought together 60 exhibitors from Macau, the Greater Bay Area and overseas, with more than 40 local SMEs and Macau brands featured.

GEG waived participation fees and provided logistical and promotional support, while launching on-site initiatives such as a “Coffee Tasting Reward Program” to stimulate visitor consumption and help exhibitors convert footfall into sales.

Media supporting partners, the Macau Live Streaming Association and Coffeeder, supported e-commerce and digital outreach to extend market reach for local SMEs.

GEG curated a series of extension activities that included competitions and hands-on workshops, and also invited world coffee champions Liang Fan (China), Boram Um (Brazil), Mikael Jasin (Indonesia) and Shaun Liew (Malaysia) to deliver talks and interact with participants.

Hand-brew and latte-art competitions plus SME-led workshops aimed to elevate professional skills and public appreciation of coffee culture across Macau and the Greater Bay Area.

The event also integrated sustainability measures, collaborating with local supplier Tai On Environmental Recycling and Reproduction Factory Co., Ltd. for tables and chairs made from recyclable materials, while most of the tableware incorporated recycled and eco-friendly materials.

The festival also featured a pre-event logo and naming contest co-organised with MYEIC; Loksophy Design Ltd. won MOP 20,000 for the official name and logo used across the festival’s branding and souvenirs.
