Iranian authorities announced today that 3,375 people have died, including 383 children, during Israeli and US bombings in Iran that began on February 28.
The figures were released by the director of Iran’s forensic medicine institute, Abbas Masjedi, to the IRNA news agency and reported by EFE. He stated that of the total deaths, 2,875 were men and 496 were women over 39 days of war.
Most of the children killed since the start of the bombings in Iran were between 1 and 12 years old. Abbas Masjedi also added that among the dead are citizens of other countries, including Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Iraq, and Lebanon.
In retaliation, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and launched attacks against targets in Israel, US bases, and civilian infrastructure in countries across the region such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, and Iraq.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump said that the US Navy could “immediately” begin blocking ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz after the collapse of talks with Iran and no agreement being reached.
Trump also said the United States was ready to “end Iran at the appropriate moment,” stressing that Tehran’s nuclear ambitions were central to the failure to end the war.
