Guests of honour celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme on April 24 at The Londoner Macao, followed by the 2025 Sands China Local Supplier Open Day.
Sands China commemorated the 10th anniversary of its Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme on April 24, 2025, at The Londoner Macao.
Launched in partnership with the Macao Chamber of Commerce in 2015, the programme aims to expand procurement opportunities for three tiers of local businesses: small and micro suppliers, “Made in Macao” companies, and Macao young entrepreneurs.
Aligning with the Macao SAR government’s “buy local” policy, Sands China has continuously adapted its strategy to meet evolving market demands and support SME growth.
The celebration featured the 2025 Sands China Local Supplier Open Day, attended by 250 Macao SMEs—including DSEDT-certified technology enterprises.
Face-to-face procurement booths spanned categories such as food and beverage; outside services and logistics; marketing, advertising and printing; technology and gaming products; hotel operating supplies and furniture; and facilities and construction.

Grant Chum presents a souvenir to Hoi Lok Man to express Sands China’s gratitude to the Macao Chamber of Commerce for its long-standing guidance and support, at the 2025 Sands China Local Supplier Open Day on April 24 at The Londoner Macao.
A new booth dedicated to DSEDT-certified technology firms highlighted technology-related procurement opportunities, while a Sands Procurement Academy station offered free SME training registrations on site.
Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd., emphasized the programme’s impact: “Over the past 10 years, Sands China has proactively launched various initiatives to support local SMEs, adjusting our strategies in response to market changes to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. We thank the Macao SAR government for its guidance, the Macao Chamber of Commerce for its partnership, and all local SMEs for their active support.”
Hoi Lok Man, Vice President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, added: “SMEs are the economic foundation of Macao. This decade-long collaboration with Sands China has not only fostered commercial procurement but also accelerated Macao’s moderate economic diversification. Today marks a new chapter in promoting our ‘golden business card’ globally.”
Officiating guests included representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Macau Productivity and Technology Centre, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, and Sands China Ltd.
This anniversary event is part of a wider series—such as the Rua das Estalagens Team Member Food Fest, Sands Shopping Carnival, Sands Procurement Academy training, Sands Supplier Excellence Awards, and a Macao Technological Innovation Exploration tour—celebrating the programme’s achievements.
In 2024, Sands China recorded a gross procurement of MOP 15.2 billion, with 84% (MOP 12.8 billion) awarded to Macao enterprises, including over MOP 4.6 billion to local SMEs.
Looking ahead, Sands China will launch a digital marketing training programme to enhance SMEs’ live-commerce skills and support the 2025 Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in August.
Sands China’s local supplier support strategy—which includes the F.I.T. initiative (Financial Support, Invitational Matching, Training and Development)—underscores the company’s role as a strategic partner in Macao’s sustainable development.
