The company’s salary increase takes effect March 1 and will benefit 99 percent of Sands China’s 26,000 team members. Eligible full-time staff earning monthly salaries up to MOP 13,000 (before tax) will receive a pay rise of MOP 600, resulting in a salary increase of between 4.7 and 5.4 per cent. Eligible full-time team members earning monthly salaries above MOP 13,000 (before tax) will receive a 2.5 per cent pay rise.
On January 31, a discretionary bonus equivalent to one month’s pay will be paid to non-management team members who have been with the company for one year or more. For management team members, the discretionary bonus will be paid based on the company’s Management Incentive Plan.
During a Policy Address Question and Answer session at the Legislative Assembly in November, Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lei Wai Nong, said he hoped gaming concessionaires would adjust their employees’ salaries.
He further quoted a survey indicating that in general companies would have room to provide a 2-3 per cent salary increase.
