The German Public Prosecutor’s Office filed charges today against a pediatrician currently in preventive detention, suspected of committing sexual abuse against children in 130 separate cases.
Most of the alleged crimes took place between December 1, 2013, and May 5, 2025, while the defendant was practicing his profession at hospitals in the towns of Rathenow and Nauen, located on the outskirts of Berlin. The Public Prosecutor has not yet released the specific number of children identified as victims in these proceedings.

The defendant has been held in custody since his arrest in November 2025, which followed a criminal complaint filed by the mother of one of his young patients. Following the initial report, investigators began exploring the possibility of additional victims and analyzed seized computer equipment, which revealed strong evidence of further widespread abuse.
Now that the formal charges have been presented, the Potsdam Provincial Court must decide on a start date for the trial against the medical professional.
