Ukrainian forces launched targeted strikes against Russian energy infrastructure and maritime assets after Moscow unleashed a massive wave of ballistic missiles against Kyiv and several other major cities.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian operations successfully hit three oil depots alongside a fuel storage site in Russia’s southern Stavropol region. Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted three oil tankers operating in the Black Sea as part of Moscow’s covert shipping fleet.

The offensive followed a previous wave of Ukrainian drone strikes that struck major logistics facilities in Russia, causing significant damage and casualties at warehouses operated by a prominent Russian e-commerce company that Ukrainian officials allege supplies drone components and navigation equipment to Russian forces.

The Ukrainian counter-strikes directly responded to an intense overnight bombardment across Ukraine. Russian forces launched approximately four dozen ballistic missiles in a coordinated aerial raid, marking one of the largest single ballistic missile barrages aimed at the capital since the start of the war.

The bombardment left at least six people dead and 16 others wounded as missiles struck residential areas, industrial properties, commercial centers, and transportation routes. Emergency responders worked across multiple districts in Kyiv to manage fires, rescue trapped residents, and secure structural damage in the wake of the attacks.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized the unprecedented scale of the ballistic assault, underscoring the ongoing strain on Ukrainian air defense systems.
