The proposal was advanced by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) in a recent reply to legislator Ho Ion Sang’s enquiry on the city’s strategy to expand international visitor markets.
To attract visitors beyond Greater China, Macau began offering complimentary bus or ferry rides from Hong Kong to Macau in 2024 for international travelers arriving at Hong Kong International Airport. While the initiative has been renewed this year, only free bus rides are currently available.
