Over 100 music fans and Sands Cares Ambassadors enjoy performances Dec. 1 at the “Meeting the Artist – Time for Three” event at The Londoner Macao, organised by Sands China and the Macao Orchestra.
The trio — violinists Nicolas Kendall and Charles Yang, and double-bass player Ranaan Meyer — blends classical technique with Americana and contemporary pop, delivering inventive, genre-crossing arrangements that captivated audiences at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium.
Conducted by the Macao Orchestra music director and principal conductor Lio Kuokman, the concert showcased the trio’s signature style — virtuosic playing, singing while performing, and bold reimagining of familiar repertoire.
The “Meeting the Artist” event at The Londoner Macao welcomed over 100 music fans and Sands Cares Ambassadors for a sharing and Q&A sessions, and culminated in a special performance that featured 26 children and youth aged 6–18.
After the performance, the students joined the artists on stage for a group photo and autograph session, creating a memorable experience.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China is honoured to have co-organised the Macao Orchestra concert season for three consecutive years, and we were excited to support this distinctive event this year by bringing in Time for Three to deliver exceptional performances in Macao, captivating music enthusiasts with their unique artistic style. In addition to the concert, we were also pleased to organise a ‘Meeting the Artist’ event that helped foster community interaction and cultural exchange. The event provided Macao’s emerging musical talent a valuable opportunity to perform alongside an internationally renowned string trio, broadening their horizons and enriching their artistic and cultural literacy through inspiration. By hosting a wider range of music and art initiatives, we hope to further enhance public appreciation of arts and culture and inject vitality into the city’s cultural and creative industry. We are grateful to the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Macao Orchestra, Time for Three, and all of the community members who participated. Sands China looks forward to presenting more events in our commitment to the development of art and culture, showcasing the charm of Macao as a City of Performing Arts.”
The Sands China Performing Arts Programme aims to broaden Macao’s cultural offerings by presenting world-class acts and creating community engagement opportunities.
