Sands China Welcomes Year of the Dragon with Spectacular Lion and Dragon Dances

Sands China Ltd. kicked off the Year of the Dragon in grand style with mesmerizing traditional Chinese New Year ceremonies at its properties on Sunday. The celebrations, attended by company executives, featured captivating lion and dragon dance performances, worship rituals, and eye-dotting ceremonies.

Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Wilfred Wong and other company executives welcome the Year of the Dragon with traditional Chinese New Year ceremonies Sunday at The Venetian Macao(Sands China).

Welcoming Good Luck and Blessings 

On the second day of the Lunar New Year, Sands China Ltd., hosted a series of ceremonies at Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, The Londoner® Macao, and The Parisian Macao. These rituals aimed to attract good luck and blessings to the properties and the city of Macao.  

Warm Wishes for a Joyous New Year

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., extended his warmest wishes to all residents and visitors of Macao for a joyous Chinese New Year. He stated,

“Our company looks forward to the continued leadership of the Macao SAR government as we work hand-in-hand with the community to build an even more prosperous future, and may this new year bring good fortune and happiness to all.”

Expecting GGR to reach MOP$20 billion in February

According to Dr. Wong, Macao’s gross gaming revenues (GGR) can reach MOP$20 billion this month, driven by the New Year holidays. Sands China will also continue to enrich the non-gaming elements of Macao, such as organizing concerts and other performances to attract more visitors to Macao, which is believed to drive the growth of GGR.
