Nuno Delgado argues that feeding the controversy on social networks is not good for either the athletes or the Portuguese Judo Federation.
The judoka who won the first Olympic medal for the sport, in 2000, admits to TSF being concerned about the instability in the relationship between athletes and the Federation and asks the various entities, including the Government, to try to find a “fair and appropriate solution” to the problem.
“Above all, what I would like to happen is that the mediation of the responsible bodies, the tutelage, the Olympic committee, the athletes’ associations themselves manage, for the sake of the destiny of Portuguese judo, to find a solution that is fair and adequate,” he said.
