The Banco de Portugal has maintained its economic growth forecast for the Portuguese economy at 1.8% for 2026, according to the estimates published in the June Economic Bulletin released today. This projection reflects a slightly more pessimistic outlook than that of the Government, which currently estimates a growth rate of 2% for this year.

Looking ahead to the following years, the central bank projects GDP growth rates of 1.6% in 2027 and 1.8% in 2028. Meanwhile, inflation is expected to rise to 3.1% in 2026 before returning to values close to 2% in the subsequent years.
