Sands China donated a total of MOP 1 million to five local nongovernmental organisations to support responsible gaming efforts in the community, in line with the Macao SAR government’s responsible gaming policy.

Since 2006, the company’s cumulative donations for this purpose have reached nearly MOP 10 million.

The cheque presentation took place on March 25 at The Venetian Macao.

Michael Lee, Vice President of concession administration and casino compliance for Sands China Ltd., presented the donation to representatives of the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Service Coordination Office, Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau, Macao Leisure Industry Employees Home and Bosco Youth Service Network.

The funding will support a range of community-based activities, including parent-child financial management programmes, roadshows, workshops, training sessions, sharing sessions, short film production, quiz games and community promotion days. These initiatives are intended to deepen public awareness of responsible gaming.

Michael Lee said: “Sands China has long been committed to promoting responsible gaming. Since 2006, we have donated annually to social service organisations, drawing on community networks to thoroughly implement relevant education, promotions, and training programmes in the community. This support for responsible gaming social service organisations has continued for 21 years, successfully integrating the concept of responsible gaming more broadly and practically into the daily lives of the public.

“The company will continue to launch diversified and innovative promotional methods to help more residents and tourists understand the concept of responsible gaming, contributing to the healthy and orderly development of the integrated tourism and leisure industry.”

Sands China said responsible gaming has been a long-standing focus of its community work. In 2004, it became the first integrated resort operator to launch a self-exclusion programme. Responsible gaming training was introduced in 2007 and has since been included in company-wide team member orientation.

Last year, the company established the Sands Responsible Gaming Academy, creating a more structured framework for promotion, education and training. In 2025, Sands China held more than 150 responsible gaming promotion events, reaching over 150,000 participants and delivering more than 30,000 hours of training.

Sands China will continue working with different sectors to support diversified responsible gaming education and the sustainable development of the Macao community.
