Ambrose So, vice-chairman and chief executive of SJM Holdings Ltd, will retire in June. According to a statement sent to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, So will not seek reelection as a director at the next annual general meeting, to be held on June 15.
Ambrose So has been linked to Macau’s gaming industry since 1976 when he joined STDM. He later became a key figure in SJM during the early years of the gaming liberalization in Macau.
The former right-hand man of Stanley Ho will remain as a director of SJM Resorts Ltd, the entity holding the Macau gaming concession on behalf of SJM Holdings.
After So’s retirement, SJM Holdings’ executive committee will comprise Daisy Ho, Timothy Fok, Angela Leong, and David Shum.
