Sonae dissolves company with Isabel dos Santos and controls NOS

Sonaecom had previously informed that it had reached an agreement with Isabel dos Santos to dissolve ZOPT, the operator’s largest shareholder Here are the expected changes in the shareholder structure of NOS.

After the announcement of the dissolution of the ZOPT vehicle, shared in equal parts by Sonaecom and Isabel dos Santos and which held the majority of the operator’s capital (52.15%), Sonae informed the markets tonight an agreement to buy the position of the BPI, which in recent months had been reinforcing at NOS.

With this acquisition and when the 52.15% division of the position attributed to ZOPT is completed, the group led by Cláudia Azevedo now has a 33.45% share of the telecommunications operator. The remaining capital of the company is now in the hands of Isabel dos Santos (26.075%), MFS Investment Management (2.15%) and Norges Bank (2.11%) – the remainder is in free float.
