National airports handled a new historic high of 6.6 million passengers in April, representing a 2.1% increase compared to the same period last year and accumulating a 3.3% rise in the first four months to 21.133 million, Statistics Portugal (INE) announced today.
Following historic highs recorded in the first three months of 2026, April once again reached a new historic peak in the number of passengers handled at national airports, highlighted the statistical institute.

According to the details, an average of 111.8 thousand passengers disembarked per day during that month, which is above the 109.9 thousand recorded in April 2025 and represents a growth rate of 1.7%.
