The US administration is confident that Iranian leaders will respond by the deadline set by President Donald Trump, which is midnight tonight, according to US Vice President JD Vance in Budapest.
“The Iranians are not the fastest negotiators, but we are confident we will have a response, positive or negative, by 8 p.m. [Washington time],” Vance said during a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whom he met to show support ahead of Hungary’s legislative elections in five days.

“I hope they give the right answer,” he added, emphasizing the goal of having “a world where oil and gas flow freely, where people can heat and cool their homes, and get to work.”
Vance warned that this will not happen if “the Iranians engage in acts of economic terrorism.”
