US President Donald Trump issued direct threats to Iran if an agreement to end the war and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz is not reached. The statement was posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump stated that Washington is engaged in “serious negotiations with a new, more reasonable regime to end our military operations in Iran” and claimed that “great progress has been made.”
However, he warned that if a deal is not concluded soon and the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened for commerce, the United States will “blow up and completely obliterate all electricity production plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island,” adding that even desalination facilities could be targeted.
The president justified the threat as retaliation for American military and civilian deaths during the 47 years of what he called the ‘Reign of Terror’ under the former Iranian regime.

Experts warn that an attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure could trigger a significant military escalation and directly impact global energy markets.
