As one of the major sponsors of the 72nd Macau Grand Prix, Sands China organised a series of community events to bring residents and visitors closer to Macao’s flagship international sports event.
Held from Thursday to Sunday, the Grand Prix once again transformed the city with motorsports excitement and large-scale community participation.
From Nov. 8–16, the Grand Prix Fun Zone returned to the area outside The Venetian Theatre, offering free parent-child interactive activities themed around motorsports.
The pop-up booth featured racing simulators, remote-control car challenges on a Guia Circuit track, and creative workshops where visitors designed and painted model race cars.
Guests could also watch live race feeds on a big screen. The zone attracted more than 3,000 visits, giving families and tourists hands-on experiences that highlighted the cultural and sporting appeal of the Grand Prix.
During the race weekend, Sands China partnered with the Noah Family Mutual Aid Association to run a charity sales booth.
The initiative showcased the association’s cultural and creative motorsports-themed products, supporting its mission to help local youth and individuals in need build self-confidence through counselling and community care services.
In promotion of inclusiveness, Sands Cares Ambassadors invited underprivileged families from the Macau IN Volunteer Group to enjoy the race from the grandstand.
The outreach activity formed part of the company’s broader Sands Cares program, which aims to foster a harmonious and inclusive community through engagement and support.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to sports tourism, noting that its sponsorship aligns with Macao’s strategy to advance “tourism + sports” development. He emphasised that the pop-up booth’s games and interactive activities were designed to enrich cultural and leisure experiences for both residents and tourists while strengthening Macao’s positioning as a “City of Events.”
Over the past two decades, Sands China has introduced and supported numerous cultural, tourism, and sporting events, including The NBA China Games.
The company continues to organise auxiliary community programs around major events, leveraging these platforms to encourage local participation and maximise their social and cultural impact.
