Chan entered the media industry in the 1960s, serving as a reporter and editor, among other positions. He worked for various media, including newspapers and radio stations, covering many important events in Macao and international news for the public.
Chan also served as an editor for Platform Macau, where he edited Chinese reports and wrote columns, continuously contributing to the journalism field in Macau.
He held leadership positions in organizations such as the Macao Journalists Association, the Macao News Workers Association, and the Welfare Association of Macao Media Workers, actively promoting industry development and the welfare of colleagues.
