The second edition of CreatorWeek Macao 2025 ended on a positive note, reaffirming Macau’s goal of positioning itself as an international platform for the creative economy, connecting the digital ecosystems of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area with Portuguese-speaking and global markets.
Held from 24 to 28 October and organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) in partnership with the international media production company Branded, the event featured two main programs: the CreatorWeek Conference and the CreatorWeek Academy.
The conference, held on 27 and 28 October at the Grand Lisboa Palace, brought together local and international speakers to share insights on the development of the creator economy. Topics included cultural integration between Chinese and Western social media networks, platform trends, monetization, and future prospects for the creator industry. Among the speakers were Ben Wong (Google Greater China), Evan DeFilippis (MrBeast/YouTube), Benny Chu (Meta Greater China), and Aiden Qin (YChina/Boom Technology).
The CreatorWeek Academy offered hands-on sessions on producing high-quality content, building audiences, developing brand partnerships, and managing social media accounts — while leveraging Macau’s unique cultural features. Highlighted speakers included Bing Chen (Gold House), Apl.de.Ap (Black Eyed Peas), Hudson Matter (NextWave Media), and Saket Jha Saurabh (Snapchat).
The program also addressed local topics such as short-video positioning, the current state of Macau’s content creation sector, account management strategies, and professional conduct on Chinese platforms.
MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes stated that CreatorWeek reflects Macau’s commitment to supporting youth creativity and talent, emphasizing that the initiative strengthens the city’s image as an international hub combining tourism, culture, and technological innovation.
Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong added that the event stimulates Macau’s economy and enhances its appeal among younger tourism markets.
CreatorWeek Macao 2025 also underscored the importance of nurturing local talent and fostering integration between higher education and technological innovation. Universities and incubators presented programs focused on digital skills development, aligned with the government’s goal of building a more diversified and competitive economy.
Ultimately, the event served as a platform for convergence between creativity, technology, and tourism — reinforcing Macau’s role as a city open to cooperation and international dialogue.
