Despite the decision, the United States emphasized that its warships remain deployed in the region to monitor the situation.
The maritime blockade had been imposed in the context of intense conflicts and heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, severely affecting commercial traffic and the circulation of vessels in Iranian ports.
The announcement comes during a phase of easing relations between the two countries, following recent diplomatic understandings aimed at consolidating the ceasefire and reducing military escalation in the region.
