“We have set the task of expanding the geography of our long-range capabilities,” wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on social media following a meeting with Ukraine’s top defense authorities.
Zelensky stated that the meeting served to assess the results of operations conducted over the past weeks, which have taken place almost every night using Ukrainian-made drones and, in some cases, medium-range missiles.
“Russian oil refineries are already paying a tangible price for the war, and they will pay even more,” he said, referring to recent Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure within Russia.
The Ukrainian leader added that the government is negotiating long-term contracts with defense companies to ensure “greater predictability in resource allocation” and “a sustained increase in military production.”
