Accompanied by 20 Sands Cares Ambassadors, the 20 MSO members got a chance to get up-close tips and inspiration from the former NBA players.
Grant Chum, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China is honoured to join hands with NBA Cares to once again bring legendary basketball stars to the Macao community. Similar to NBA Cares, we look to provide inclusive environments for all and encourage people from different backgrounds to participate in sports and show their talents. This community event is a wonderful example of how the power of sports can bring people together and promote inclusion. Our thanks go to the NBA for organising this meaningful community event, to Macau Special Olympics for accepting our invitation, to Stephon Marbury, Cuttino Mobley and Tony Parker for sharing their time and positivity with the Macao community, and to our Sands Cares Ambassadors for guiding these young athletes for this memorable activity.”
Sands China launched the Sands Cares Ambassador programme in August 2009, becoming the first integrated resort operator in Macao to promote volunteering services and establish a volunteer team.
The company is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the programme this year, whose membership now surpasses 3,600 volunteers from across all Sands China properties and comprising all levels of team members.
The company’s community work is part of the Sands Cares corporate citizenship programme.
