The Portuguese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who represents the Saudi Al Nassr since January, guaranteed on Monday that the return to European football is a “completely closed door”.
“That door is completely closed. I said when I signed [for Al Nassr], I’m already 38 and a half years old and it’s not worth it. In my view, Europe has lost a lot of quality”, said the striker to journalists, after the friendly game between Al Nassr and Celta de Vigo that the Spaniards won 5-0, at Estádio Algarve.
Cristiano Ronaldo later explained that “the only league in the world” that he sees “at a higher level than all others” is the English Premier League.
“The Spanish League does not have that great quality, the Portuguese League is a good league but it is not a top top league, in my opinion, and the German League also I think it lost a lot. I’m sure I won’t play in Europe anymore”, reinforced the Portuguese international.
