TDM Rádio Macau

The Judiciary Police is calling on the population to be careful when receiving SMS requesting personal data submission, particularly when asked for information about the credit card, password or transaction verification code.

This comes as the police force is investigating at least two cases of fraud related to such messages. In one of them, the victim received an SMS with a fake link pretending to be from the Macau telecommunications company, saying that the validity period of the bonus points was about to expire, to prompt the victim to log into a fake website and exchange the gifts.

Following the instructions, the victim gave his credit card information and verification code. Soon after, the victim received a notification from a financial institution about an unknown consumption made through his credit card, he suspected that his card details had been stolen. Later, it was confirmed that CTM had not sent the said SMS.
