The Ukrainian president this Wednesday urged other European countries to follow the example of France, which will send light armored vehicles to Ukraine, arguing that improving defensive capabilities can “accelerate the defeat of the terrorist state”.
“France has taken European defense support to Ukraine to a new level, and I thank President Macron for that leadership. We will receive more armored vehicles and, in particular, wheeled tanks of French production”, underlined Volodymyr Zelensky in his usual daily evening speech addressed to the nation.
For the Ukrainian head of state, the military material sent by France “sends a clear signal” to the other partners: “there is no rational reason why Ukraine has not yet been supplied with western-type tanks”.
