As of this Friday, ferry connections between the Pac On maritime terminal and Hong Kong Airport will resume, although, in the first phase, there will be only one trip per day. Local authorities have lifted the red code for overseas travelers and golden bus travel is also back.
It is another step towards the return of tourism and normality. TDM Canal Macau reported that from this Friday, the 30th, ferry trips between the Taipa Maritime Terminal and the Sky Pier of Hong Kong International Airport will resume. However, in a first phase, there will be only one trip per day, on Fridays and Sundays, with departure from Taipa at 2:30 pm and departure from Hong Kong at 9:45 am. The cleaning and disinfection work inside the boats has already begun.
The so-called golden buses, which make the connection with Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, are also back in operation, having eased the previous access restrictions that only allowed declarations of nucleic acid tests passed in Macau, Hong Kong or China. According to TDM Canal Macau, statements made by health authorities in any region or country are now accepted.

However, since midnight last Thursday, the red health code for those traveling from abroad is no longer in force, thus putting an end to the mandatory isolation, changing the color of the code to yellow , which means that the person can leave the house, enter certain places and work with authorization. Those traveling from Hong Kong, Taiwan or foreign countries are also no longer required to carry out an acid test on the third day after entering the territory.
The new measure maintains the provision for submitting a nucleic acid test, within 72 hours, after the sampling date, before starting the trip by plane, boat or vehicle to Macau, added the note from the Coordination and of contingency of the new type of coronavirus.
After entering the territory, the “yellow” health code is assigned, and the person must “perform the rapid antigen test daily (…) for five consecutive days from the day following entry into Macau”. After loading the negative result onto the platform for rapid antigen testing on the fifth day, the health code becomes “green”, i.e. without any movement restriction.
If, in that period, a quick test is obtained with a positive result, the health code will turn “red” and only then will “the measure of home isolation for infected people be applied”. After entering Macau, “people can leave” the territory “at any time” to Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign countries, but until midnight of the ninth day, entry into China is prohibited.
