The Sporting de Espinho Betinho striker ‘flew’ this Tuesday from Aveiro districts to Manchester United, due to an error on the English Football League’s website, and saw the situation “as a joke”.
“I was having a completely normal day and I started getting some rather strange messages on Instagram. But I thought it was some kind of bad joke”, the 29-year-old striker tells Lusa.
The former under-21 international, trained at Sporting, did not want to believe the error on the official Premier League website, which listed him as number 11 for the Red Devils, in a squad alongside internationals Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.
