Iran announced this Thursday that it has developed a hypersonic missile “capable of penetrating all defense systems”.
“This hypersonic ballistic missile was developed to combat air defense shields,” said General Amirali Hajizadeh of the Revolutionary Guard’s aerospace unit, quoted by Iranian news agency Fars. “It will be able to breach all missile defense systems,” he added.
The announcement comes days after Iran admitted that it was sending drones to Russia, when, since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, it had denied doing so.
The Washington Post reported on October 16 that Iran was preparing to send missiles to Russia, but Tehran rejected the report as “completely false”.
