Computer predicts World Cup final between Argentina and Portugal

A supercomputer predicted that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will face each other in the final of the World Cup in Qatar, and that in the decisive game Argentina will beat Portugal and become world champions… in the penalty shoot-out. The analysis was published in the renowned English magazine Four Four Two.

These studies based on algorithms and statistics are common on the eve of major tests. This time the forecast was published in the special report “The Most Important Of All Unimportant Forecasts 2nd Edition: 2022 FIFA World Cup”, by the company BCA Research, and was based on player statistics in a sample of 192 games from the World Cup qualification and 64 World Cup qualifiers in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. Data from footballers from the EA Sport FIFA game was also used.
