Scottish manager Ian Cathro has left his technical command at Estoril Praia, which finished in 10th place in the Portuguese top flight during the 2025/26 season, to lead Saint-Étienne in the French second division, both clubs announced today.
Ian Cathro signed a two-season contract keeping him with Saint-Étienne until 2028. This season, the French team featured contributions from Portuguese defenders João Ferreira and Chico Lamba but missed out on promotion to the top tier after a playoff against Nice, drawing 0-0 at home in the first leg and losing 4-1 away in the second.
