Xinjiang injects more than 40 billion yuan into poverty alleviation projects Xinjiang’s Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwest China has invested more than 40.5 billion yuan ($ 5.7 billion) in poverty alleviation projects this year, local officials said.
The funds have been invested in 5,286 projects, covering various areas, such as industrial development and employment, revealed the regional office for poverty alleviation and development.
Xinjiang has also increased financial support for families affected by poverty. It provided loans to 117,800 impoverished families this year, totaling more than 3.74 billion yuan.
