Films by Wes Anderson, Viggo Mortensen, François Ozon and Sharunas Bartas, in a Portuguese co-production, are in the official selection of the Cannes film festival, although this year’s edition has been canceled, it was announced today.
The Cannes festival, scheduled for May, did not happen in the traditional format because of the covid-19, but the Direction did not admit this as a total cancellation, referring today to the announcement of the official selection.
Which means that the 56 films revealed today, out of about two thousand received by the organization, may be screened in cinemas theaters in coming months and 2021 with an “official selection of Cannes” seal.
