The death toll from Covid-19 in Africa has soared to 2,912 today, with more than 91,000 infected in 54 countries, according to the latest pandemic statistics on that continent.

According to the African Union’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen from 2,834 to 2,912, while those infected with the Covid-19 virus have gone from 88,172 to 91,598.
