The Mozambican Ministry of Health announced on Friday that 19 more people tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 65.
Rosa Marlene, national director of Public Health, speaking at a press conference in Maputo, said that of the 65 cases, 57 are local transmission and 8 are imported.
She said there was only one case that had mild symptoms, and the rest had no symptoms, adding that the new cases were all found in Afungi, Palma district, in Cabo Delgado province.
According to the information, among the 19 new cases, 18 were in males. Eight are Mozambican citizens and 11 are foreigners.
The authorities also revised the number of recovered cases from 12 to 9, and confirmed that there is no record of deaths from the disease to date.
