Rubén Vargas and Johan Manzambi broke the deadlock in favor of the Swiss in Vancouver, scoring in the 46th and 57th minutes. This guaranteed their top spot in the group with seven points—three ahead of second-placed Canada, who had never previously progressed past the first round and pulled one back through Promise David in the 76th minute.
Bosnia-Herzegovina finished with the same four points but a inferior goal difference compared to the Canadians (5-6 against 8-3). Nevertheless, they are highly likely to make their debut in the knockout stage of a World Cup as one of the eight best third-placed teams, after defeating Qatar 3-1 today in Seattle, United States.

Kerim Alajbegovic (29 minutes), a Mahmoud Abunada own goal (34), and Ermin Mahmic (80) scored the goals for the Bosnian national team, while Hassan Al-Haydos converted for the 2022 World Cup hosts in the 42nd minute.
Qatar becomes the sixth team to be eliminated from the 23rd edition of the World Cup, which is being played until July 19 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. They join previously eliminated nations Haiti (Group C), Turkey (D), Tunisia (F), Jordan (J), and Panama (L).
