A brace from Deniz Undav allowed Germany to stage a comeback today and defeat the Ivory Coast 2-1 in the second round of Group E at the 2026 football World Cup, securing their qualification for the Round of 32.
The African side, who had beaten Ecuador 1-0 in their opening match, took the lead in the 30th minute through Franck Kessié. However, Undav, who came off the bench in the 60th minute, became the hero of the match by turning the scoreline around with goals in the 68th and 90+4 minutes, sealing the victory for the German squad.

With this win, Germany—who thrashed Curaçao 7-1 in the opening round—leads the group with six points and has already qualified for the Round of 32.
