In celebration of the “Alphabet & Friends” Literary and Cultural Festival, GEG invited over 30 students from Escola Portuguesa de Macau and their parents to join an exclusive art creation session of the Festival. Through a fun experience combining literature and puppet arts, participants explored the theme “My City” in a joyful atmosphere, further promoting cultural exchange and integration between the Chinese and Portuguese communities.
Galaxy Entertainment Group continues to support cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries through its title sponsorship of the “Literary and Cultural Festival for Parents and Children ‘Alphabet & Friends’ 2026”.
This marks the sixth consecutive year of support and the second consecutive year as title sponsor of the festival, jointly organised by the Instituto Português do Oriente (IPOR) and the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong.
Held throughout May, the festival featured more than 50 activities aimed at promoting cultural engagement among children and families.
As part of the programme, GEG hosted an exclusive drama and puppet creation session at the Galaxy Kidz Edutainment Center, welcoming more than 30 students and parents from Escola Portuguesa de Macau.
During the event, families attended the children’s play “The Secret Magic Recipe: Enemy Pie”, which combined storytelling, puppet theatre and educational elements.
Professional instructors guided participants through different forms of cultural arts, blending Western narrative traditions with aspects of Chinese culinary culture.
Following the performance, participants joined a hands-on puppet-making workshop where they learned role-playing techniques, including voice modulation, puppet manipulation and stage interaction.
The activity encouraged creativity and artistic expression in an interactive parent-child learning environment.
This year’s festival also participated in the “Reading Points” initiative under “Macao Just Read‧National Reading Week 2026”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Education and Youth Development Bureau, and the Social Welfare Bureau of the Macau SAR Government.
Under the theme “My City”, the programme included concerts, theatre performances, workshops, book fairs and book launches designed to strengthen children’s connection with their community and culture.
Building on the success of the “Mini Library” initiative launched previously, IPOR, the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, and GEG donated books by Portuguese-language authors, including bilingual editions introduced during the festival, to nearly 20 local schools offering Portuguese-language education.
The initiative aims to encourage reading habits among young people while deepening their understanding of Portuguese culture through bilingual learning resources.

Through the “GEG Intangible Heritage FUN Experience”, GEG presented
handcrafted lion-head souvenirs to local students and community members,
symbolizing the enduring spirit and vitality of Chinese traditional culture and arts.
In addition to supporting the festival, GEG continues to promote Macau’s multicultural development through a range of cultural initiatives.
Recently, the company organised the “GEG Intangible Heritage FUN Experience”, which welcomed more than 200 students and community members to explore traditional Chinese culture through exhibitions and workshops, including the “Golden Fortunes: The Macau Debut of Zhu Bingren’s Copper Art” exhibition and a copper sheet crafting workshop.
These initiatives reflect GEG’s ongoing commitment to supporting cultural exchange, enriching Macau’s multicultural landscape and contributing to the city’s development as a platform where Chinese culture and diverse international cultures coexist.
