Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday (2) accused senator and presidential pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro of being a “traitor to the homeland” and an “idiot”. During an event in Catalão, in the state of Goiás, Lula linked former president Jair Bolsonaro’s son to the United States government proposal to impose 25% tariffs on goods imported from Brazil.

“Those Bolsonaro sons manage to be worse than him. They are, in fact, sellouts of the homeland. They went to ask a foreign country to interfere in Brazilian decisions. They are traitors,” said the president.
