With the launch of the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the Macao SAR’s 3rd Five-Year Plan, Macao’s economy is entering a crucial phase of transformation and modernization. In light of the widespread adoption of information technology and the new economic development landscape, the FAOM’s Vocational Training and Employment Guidance Committee will adopt “investment in people” as its core strategy.
Promoting the continuous progress of society and helping workers maintain competitiveness is a vital issue for reflection within the labor sector. It is necessary to “invest in people”, which requires the participation and joint efforts of the Government, all sectors of society, and residents.
In alignment with the development strategy of the Macao SAR and to implement the spirit of last year’s “Workers’ Congress”, while promoting the construction of an “employment and professional development ecosystem” better suited to Macao’s development and residents’ needs, the new FAOM Training Committee will advance three key tasks, including:
Upgrading the training structure, focusing on the “1+4” industries: optimize FAOM’s training platforms by bringing together government, enterprises, and society to develop, with precision, more training and professional certification programs that meet social needs and substantially enhance residents’ competitiveness.
Deepening the integration between industry and education, in line with the national context: promote the model of “school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration”, working with enterprises to provide young people and workers in Macao with learning and practical opportunities that support career development, while fostering a high-quality pool of skilled talent for the Macao SAR.
Optimizing employment support and enhancing adaptability: comprehensively improve employment support services, increase the effectiveness of training and career placement, and precisely assist workers in adapting to the needs of industrial modernization, thereby effectively improving the overall quality of employment among residents.
