Macau: new law guarantees solid national security system, says Law Faculty Director

The director of the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau, Gabriel Tong, believes the reform of the State Security Defence Commission (CDSE), through a law approved yesterday by the Legislative Assembly, will allow Macau to fully implement a comprehensive national security perspective, ensuring all risks and potential threats fall within the scope of all areas of SAR governance

In an article published on the new law, Tong highlights the expansion of the CDSE’s composition as a key feature, with all five government secretaries now joining the Commission — whereas previously only the secretaries for Administration and Justice and for Security were members alongside the chief executive.
