GEG and MMA held the 14th YAP Award Presentation and the 15th YAP Launching Ceremony at the Galaxy International Convention Center.
Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the Macau Management Association (MMA) marked the 15th edition of the GEG Youth Achievement Program (YAP) with an award presentation for the 14th cohort and a launching ceremony for the new intake at the Galaxy International Convention Center.
Since 2011, YAP has operated around three core themes “Self-Awareness”, “Community Care” and “Career Development”, and has engaged more than 3,600 young people aged 18–29 through training, exchanges and career-oriented activities.
The ceremony drew senior government and industry guests, including representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, the Labour Affairs Bureau, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Education and Youth Development Bureau, and leadership from GEG and MMA.
At the event GEG and MMA presented awards to outstanding participants and recognised achievements from the previous year.
Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, said: “GEG has always attached great importance to nurturing talent.
Over the years, we have worked closely with MMA to build YAP into a dynamic platform that brings together diverse elements of learning and exchange.
Looking ahead, GEG will continue to support young people to ‘Reach Out, Reach Beyond’, pushing past their limits and achieving excellence”.
Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA, said: “MMA is committed to advancing the holistic development of local youth.
Together with GEG, which shares our vision, we have coorganized YAP for many years, providing solid and diverse activities and training to help participants grow academically, professionally, and socially”.
Entering its 15th edition, YAP adopts the theme “Cultural Heritage, Careers Set Sail”, offering workshops on Macau’s intangible cultural heritage, cultural seminars, art exhibitions and study tours designed to broaden participants’ cultural perspectives and industry-relevant skills for the cultural and creative sectors.
The previous (14th) edition emphasised technology and sustainability, culminating in a winning project that combined cultural landmarks with interactive technology; the champion team received the prize of a five-day study tour in Singapore, sponsored by GEG.
By linking career development with cultural heritage education and experiential study, YAP aims to strengthen local youth employability while supporting Macau’s cultural and creative ecosystem aligning with the SAR government’s policies on education and talent cultivation.
