CELPE-BRAS is the official Brazilian Portuguese proficiency certificate recognized by the Brazilian government and is considered the most authoritative Brazilian Portuguese language exam internationally. Its results are widely used for academic advancement, professional certification, and employment evaluation. Since becoming a CELPE-BRAS exam center in March 2025, MUST has successfully held two exams in March and October. To further improve the exam operations, the International College decided to establish a specialized center to coordinate related matters.

During the ceremony, Zhang Hongming, Dean of the International College, introduced the latest developments of the university and the college to the Brazilian representatives, particularly highlighting the achievements in Portuguese language training and academic and cultural exchanges with Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries. He emphasized that the college will continue to expand international cooperation to create more opportunities for students in Portuguese-speaking regions.

Wladimir Valler Filho commended MUST’s achievements in Portuguese language education and international cooperation and expressed hope that the university would deepen its connections with more Brazilian higher education institutions in the future. Later, accompanied by Portuguese language teachers, he met with graduate students and senior undergraduates, mentioning the increasingly close cooperation between China and Brazil, the promising employment prospects, and encouraging students to consider working or pursuing further studies in Brazil.
