U.S. Consulate General of Hong Kong and Macau announces new Consul

The U.S. Consulate General of Hong Kong and Macau has announced the arrival of its new Consul, Julie Eadeh, who has arrived in Hong Kong today, and will succeed Consul General Greg May, who left Hong Kong last month.

‘Julie Eadeh, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor, assumed duties as the Consul General in Hong Kong in August 2025’, the Consulate noted.

Eadeh’s last posting was as the US consul general in Istanbul, a role she had held since November 2022, after serving as the US Mission Türkiye spokesperson in Ankara from August 2021 to October 2022. Before working as political chief at the US consulate in Hong Kong, she took up diplomatic roles in Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Shanghai, and Jerusalem.

According to the U.S. authorities, Eadeh earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts degree from Georgetown University, and is proficient in Turkish, Arabic, and Mandarin Chinese.
