For the 20th consecutive year, GEG is organizing team members to participate in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races. Recently, a blessing ceremony was held at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.
Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) hosted a blessing ceremony at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre to wish its dragon boat teams success in the 20th Macao International Dragon Boat Races. This marks GEG’s 20th consecutive year organizing staff participation in the marquee sporting event, demonstrating its commitment to employee wellbeing and community engagement.
Ceremonial Rituals
GEG executives—including Eileen Lui (Group Director of HR & Administration), Richard Longhurst (Senior Director of Gaming), James Koratzopoulos (EVP of Hotel & MICE Operations), Joseph Tang (EVP of Operations of StarWorld Hotel), Hazel Wong (EVP of Retail), and Danny Lao (VP of HR & Administration and Chairperson of the GEG Staff Social Club)—performed traditional cleansing and eye-dotting rituals on seven boats: Galaxy Stars, Galaxy Pearl, Galaxy Universe, Galaxy Glamour, Galaxy Phoenix, Galaxy Elegance, and the newly launched Galaxy Pioneer. They also ceremonially cut roasted pigs and distributed red packets to team members.

Team Composition & Sentiment
Led by Captain Tyson Hoi, GEG’s dragon boat contingent comprises seven crews drawn from its various properties. Hoi expressed gratitude for two decades of company support, and highlighting the addition of the seventh dragon boat, Galaxy Pioneer, has added special significance as the team represents GEG in the races for the 20th year. On behalf of the team, Captain Hoi pledged to continue to uphold their unity and strength as they strive for outstanding result in the upcoming races.
