Galaxy Entertainment Group title sponsors the Macau Cultural City Carnival, a large-scale community and cultural sports event set to take place on May 24 and 25, 2025, at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards — part of its Revitalization Project.
Organized by the Macau International Grand Event Promotion Association, and supported by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government, the two-day event promotes local culture, heritage, and economic growth through a “Culture + Community + Sports” model.
The Carnival features three core experiences: Cultural Market, Community Exploration, and Orienteering Race. These are designed to showcase the unique charm of Coloane, support local SMEs, and attract both residents and international visitors.

Mr. Chong Lo, President of Macau International Grand Event Promotion Association
The event also incorporates the World Orienteering PWT International Invitational Competition and the Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Competition (Macau, China) — marking the first time Macau hosts this global sports event.
At a press conference on April 29 held at the Galaxy International Convention Center, officials and partners highlighted the event’s key components and goals.
Among the speakers was Mr. Chong Lo, President of the organizing association, who emphasized the Carnival’s mission to strengthen Macau’s cultural tourism appeal while boosting community-driven business engagement.

Event Highlights (May 24–25)
Cultural Market:
Held from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, this marketplace at Lai Chi Vun Shipyards will include booths run by local SMEs, live music, and interactive game stalls.
Community Exploration:
Participants will navigate Coloane’s landmarks — such as Tam Kung Temple and Coloane Old Street — collecting stamps and redeeming them for souvenirs. This activity runs concurrently with the market.
Orienteering Race:
Over 1,000 participants are expected to join the orienteering race, with registration available via the official event site: https://gegmccc.com. An Orienteering Maze Minigame will also take place at the Galaxy Macau™ Integrated Resort from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on both days.

Mr. Huang Xiaojun, Technical Representative of the Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Competition
The orienteering competitions will include divisions for elite international athletes, the general public, and families. According to Mr. Huang Xiaojun, race routes have been tailored to highlight Macau’s historic architecture and promote national fitness goals in line with China’s sports development strategy.
The Macau Station of these international competitions positions the SAR as an emerging hub for global sporting events and enhances the visibility of its “Tourism+” integration strategy across the Greater Bay Area.
